on the Italian Mafia.Throughout this page I will attempt to give an unbiased
look at the Mafia. On one hand, I feel that the Mafia is an important part
of our country's economic status. I also feel that the Mafia is a business
organization run with the well being of the public, not the government,
in mind. In fact, when the Mafia began in the ninth century, it was formed
to protect the heritage and the people of Sicily. On the other hand, the
Mafia's main purposes are to make money and protect its members, and this
has led to a very corrupt organization, which as lost sight of its goal
of helping it's "own" along with those in the lower class. Although
the Mafia would like people to believe that they are a group of old, retired
Italians who gather to play cards and talk about the "Old Country",
they are obviously not. They have become a group of heartless killers with
no morals. It is unfortunate, but I feel that this is a situation where
you can't live with them, but you just can't live without them. It is important
for you to know that I have not, and don't see myself, siding with either
the Mafia or the police, and because of that, this page may promote a pro-Mafia
attitude in some areas and may bad mouth it in others. There is one thing
thing that this page will never promote or imply: the nonexistence of the
Italian Mafia. Anyone who honestly believes that the Mafia does not exist
is either extremely ignorant or incredibly uninformed. Anyway, please enjoy
