Peace Train Foundation
The original New England Fiddle Contest -- which brought as many as 50,000 spectators to Bushnell Park during the 70's -- was eventually run out of town by the Hartford "politicos", who imposed excessive crowd control regulations requiring expensive coverage by off-duty police officers at overtime wages. The non-profit music organization had to foot these costs, despite the fact that the concerts were free. Thankfully for all those who sadly witnessed the demise of this wonderful family event, the Peace Train Foundation has announced a comeback in Hartford on Sat., June 5, 1999, at Bushnell Park in Hartford.
