WaveShow^™ Sound Explorer

WaveShow Sound Explorer combines the functions of a Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Mixer, Wave file Player/Recorder, CD Player, and a MIDI Keyboard; all in a single program. Use the Mixer to select a sound source, adjust the volume, and then click [Play] or [Record]. The Oscilloscope traces the waveform of the sound while the Spectrum Analyzer plots the harmonic frequencies of that sound, aligned with the keys of the MIDI Keyboard so that you can see the loudness of each note as it is played. The Spectrum Analyzer bar graph scrolls continuously so that you can view all nuances of the sound as it changes with time.

WaveShow makes it easy to record Wave files from sound sources on your computer (CD, microphone, MIDI or MP3 player), or from external sound sources via the line/aux output of your HiFi or stereo receiver (CD, tape, phono, AM/FM radio, or TV). In Preview mode, you can see and hear the music continuously, without recording. When you want to start recording, just click the [Record] button. You can start and stop recording at any time and each recorded sound segment can be saved as a separate Wave file or all segments can be saved in a single file.

WaveShow will help you to appreciate music and understand sounds of all types. If you just want to listen to the music, WaveShow makes it easy to play any Wave file or CD. Simple controls let you start or stop the playback, scroll to any position in a Wave file, and step forward or backward one phrase at a time. Study the dynamics of a piano performance by watching the loudness of each note. Anyone using WaveShow, from music lover to professional composer, will gain new insights into the subtle structure of musical sounds.
