Created in the spirit of Leonardo Da Vinci, the Versitar/Musicane is the last and greatest artistic and multi-purpose (string-percussion) musical instrument invention of the 20th century. Conceived in 1987 by artist, director, producer and scientist-philosopher, Leon H. Maurer, (founder of the UAG), this unique and intuitively easy-to-play-by-ear acoustic-electric instrument has been exhibited and demonstrated at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of American Folk Art. Built on a fine art sculptured walking stick that has many other practical functions, the Versitar ("An electric cane... Wow!", he said) is destined to become, according to Les Paul, legendary jazz guitarist and inventor of the Gibson electric guitar, "the walk-around instrument of choice in the 21st century".
