Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Can you explain what the categories cover?
A: You need the Index Category
Help.
Q:
How do you decide what pages goes where?
A: Personal judgement. :-) If your page offers nothing
really unique, it goes into Other Star Trek Pages.
Q:
I don't think my page/s belong in category [take your choice]
A:I could and have made mistakes. Remind me the things I
didn't see and I'll revisit your site.
Q:
I wish to submit my page for inclusion in Star Trek Nexus
A: Head over to the submissions
page and fill out the application. A
reciprocal link would be very
appreciated.
Q:
I submitted an entry but I don't see it listed yet
A:If your entry doesn't show up in
two weeks, e-mail me.
Q:
How do I link my own site to yours?
A: Check the Reciprocal Link
Instructions, in which I've written the HTML code for you. Just
cut and paste into your own page!
Q:
Is there a cost to be listed in Star Trek Nexus?
A: Absolutely NOT! Star Trek Nexus is dedicated to link up
world of Star Trek (see introduction) and
thus is a free public service.
Q:
How do you pick your Top Picks?
A: Via my ratings system and
personal judgement. The UNIQUENESS of a site is a big factor in this
decision, as I will usually pick only two of each category, and they
must really stand out.
Q:
This site is great! Why doesn't it have any awards?
A: Who says Star Trek Nexus doesn't have any awards? (^_^) I just don't put them all on the front page. Head over to our Trophy Case and see for
yourself.
Q:What's the difference among a guide, an index,
and a list?
A:I'm glad you asked. Let go from simple to complex.
List -- just a list of links, no descriptions, which is what
EVERY homepage has nowadays. The most useless of the three.
Index -- slightly improved list, has some added value onto the
list, such as classification system.
Guide -- classification/categories, description of each link listed, plus ratings if available. That's what you get here in Star Trek Nexus.
Q:
What are those ads I see near the top?
A: See Linkexchange.
Q:
Do you have a life?
A: Tell you the truth... Not really. (grin) In real life I'm
a MIS Developer, doing client-server database developments. You're
welcome to see the rest of my homepage. On the other hand... If I actually got an e-mail message that tells me to "get a life", the person who sent it will be getting a notice from his/her sysop very soon. That's not a threat, but a promise.
Q:
For future use.
