Hip and happening: the two choicest words for this soundtrack from the
late Bruno Nicolai. Hot on the heels of another Jess Franco release, VAMPYROS
LESBOS, this neat slice of late 60s Euro-psychadelica bumps and grinds
its way into your head like some wicked martini. Featuring the beautiful
vocal talents of Edda Dell'Orso on tracks 5 and 13, these melodies delivers
pleasant vibrations sure to soothe any post-modern headache.
Lucertola's release of AGENTE SPECIALE LK (aka LUCKY THE INSCRUTABLE),
marks Bruno Nicolai's second such Franco-based soundtrack to be released
in over a year (the other, the re-release on CD of the incredible CONTE
DRÁCULA from Edipan Records), and the fifth in total (including
the Morricone-derivative IL MIO NOME E' SHANGAI JOE, Point Records,
and 100,00 DOLLARI PER RINGO, again on Edipan). Chockfull of electric
guitars, mandolins, poppy drumming, a great opening theme, and Ms. Dell'Orso's
vocals (treat yourself to her talents by buying the Morricone soundtracks
VERUSCHKA, GIORNATA NERA PER L'ARIETE, and LA TRANATOLA
DAL VENTRE NERO), it's all you work exoect from one of the unsung heros
of Euro-composers.
