Frequently Asked Questions
About PTE

Q:  I am a student in an occupational therapy assistant program. Can I join PTE?

A:
Students in entry-level professional programs (baccalaureate and entry-level master's occupational therapy programs) are eligible to apply to PTE upon invitation. PTE has pledged in the past and continues to offer to help occupational therapy assistant students and certified occupational therapy assistants to develop an honor society, but to our knowledge one does not exist yet.

Q:  How do I start a PTE Chapter at my occupational therapy school?

A:    Contact Jessica Halterman, the National Coordinator of PTE and request the "How t
"Establish a Chapter Packet". You can reach Jessica Halterman at work (703) 726
      -2547, fax (703) 726-2507, or e-mail  Jhalterm@aol.com.

Q:  What are the official colors of PTE? We'd like to order commencement cords in the appropriate colors for graduating PTE members.

A;    PTE cord colors are navy and/or gold. PTE National Office does not provide them but most students can order them from vendors.

Q:  I lost my PTE pin. How can I get a replacement PTE pin?

A:    Contact the PTE National Coordinator, Jessica Halterman, at jhalterm@aol.com and she can verify that you're a member and tell you how to get another pin. Replacement pins used to cost $15 but I am not sure of the current price.
