No Passenger trains listed.
It certainly must have been strange in this small town not to have a passenger train during World War II. Cassoday is in the middle of a vast prairie known as the flint hills. This is the area where Knute Rocknies plane crashed. After a spring rain the grass here is unbelievably green. Farmers in this area burn off the dead grass in the early spring to promote this growth. This is cattle country and the green grass is great for grazing.

Even though Cassoday had no passenger service in 1942 the depot did have a passenger waiting room. The 1910 standard depot is now a community museum. A nice spot to stop on I-35. Today freight trains pass through Cassoday at a fevered pace. This is due to the fact that the freight main and the Texas main are combined in this area. It is also a nice area to pace trains as there are long roads that parallel the railroad.
