AUGUSTA, KANSAS
AUGUSTA, KANSAS
Passenger Train Schedule November 29, 1942
No Passenger trains listed.
Augusta was not only home to the Santa Fe but also the Frisco. The Santa Fe/ Frisco crossing was protected by A.G. Tower. The tower is gone as well as the crossing. See Joe McMillian's Wheat Lines and Super Freights page 144 and 145 for a view of the tower and another view of the depot.

The Augusta depot is still used by Maintenance of Way forces. It is one of the best kept on the railroad. The depot is in emaculate condition. It is hard to believe that no passenger trains were schedluled to stop here in 1942. The depot construction is unusual as well. There are only two depots on the railroad that even remotely resemble this structrure. Streator, Illinois and Garnett, Kansas. Streator bears the greatest resemblance.
