Came to US April 1639 with his older brother Samuel on the ship "Jonathan". The Hydes were prominent in Cambridge Village/Newton. In a literal sense, Jonathan was the main founding father of Newton, fathering children well into his sixties.

The information after William Hyde is very contradictory, even from what would seem like good sources. That's not hard to understand, given the various Roberts, Johns, Anns, Margarets, Davenports, Bea Calverly (listed in several generations as a wife?), Ann Radcliffe (ditto?), possible missing generations, incredibly long life spans even by today's standards, etc. If you know of an actual documentation of their doings, births, deaths and such (not counting any 'pedigree' or lineage listing or description), leave me a note.
