Results have shown that units attaining Quality Unit status furnish a consistently better program, retain youth and adult members longer, and advance Scouts further along the trail towards Eagle.

Remember....It takes U and I to make QUALITY

On this site we examine the origins of the award that so many Scouts and Scouters proudly wear.  Collectors will find a list of many variations offered over the years.

Unlike CSPs and Flaps, Quality patches are categorized based upon major front and back variations.  Consequently, we pay as much attention to the back side of the patch as we do the front.  We look at colors, backing materials, and shape.  These are differences that can be easily seen.  It is assumed that some of the larger councils may have distributed their own Quality Unit patches based upon the National design in order to save money.  Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if this is the case unless the patch has been specifically identified as coming from a different manufacturer.
