The following prefixes are in use on current New Jersey license plates (words in capitals appear on the plate):

1923 New Jersey truck plate - nice condition example of an early truck plate, red on black, large heavy embossed steel. New Jersey first issued truck plates in 1918. Drew Steitz collection.

1946 New Jersey Governor plate - rare authentic Governor plate, with the brass seals. From the Dave Sampugnaro collection (NY)

Blue/buff Medical license plates - early 1990's vintage plates, for use by Physicians, Chiropractors and Dentists. These three plates are from the George Kunsman collection (NJ)

Dr. Paul Kovalski, and two of his special license plates - this picture is from an ALPCA International Convention parking lot. Plates are both from the Paul Kovalski collection (NJ)

Old-timer New Jersey low numbered plates - shot at a National ALPCA convention, this incredible display shows off some of the greatest New Jersey porcelains known. Of special note, a number one 1913 issue, and some super early NJ pre-state issues. I'm not sure, but these may be from the John Hansen collection. (NJ)

1903 vintage pre-state porcelain and leather pre-state New Jersey license plates - from the collection of John Hansen, this set may be the lowest number pair of pre-state New Jersey plates in a collection. (NJ)
