DRAFT
*After pulling numbers, each GM will select desired draft position according to order of numbers pulled. (ie; GM drawing #1 will decide his draft position, then GM drawing #2 will decide his draft position, then GM drawing #3, and so on, until all draft positions have been filled)
ROSTERS
*Each GM will draft: 2 QB's, 4 RB's, 2 TE's, 4 WR's, 2 Kickers, 2 Defense/Special teams, 1 Xtra (a player of any position or D/ST)
REGULAR SEASON
*Provided there are 12 teams, there will be three divisions with four teams in each division. Each team will play a 13 game regular season, playing division opponents twice each, once home, and once away. Each team will also play 7 of the 8 teams in the other divisions once each.
STARTING LINEUPS
*Each week, GM's must submit a starting lineup. You may do this by phone, in writing, or by email. The weekly deadline for starting lineups and transactions is the night before the first game of the week, no later than 6pm. (When using email, the commissioner is not responsible for any emails that arrive after the weekly deadline, no matter when they were sent by the GM. Whenever possible, GM's that use email for starting lineups and transactions should try to do so as early as possible to make sure their moves get included for that weekend's games)
*GM's will start: 1 QB, 2 RB's, 1 TE, 2 WR's, 1 K, 1 D/ST, and 1 Flex player (a third RB or WR, or a second TE). These are the only players that may be eligible to provide scoring. Stats will not drop to backups, no matter what little scoring, if any, a starter provides.
*In any given week, if a starting lineup is not communicated to the commissioner, the starting lineup from the previous week will be used.
*A player may only start in the position he was drafted or signed in.
*If a GM names a requested free agent in their starting lineup that they end up not successfully signing, that starting spot will be empty if an alternate lineup had not been given.
KICKERS AND SPECIAL TEAM TD'S
*A kicker may ONLY score in kicking categories and can NEVER be credited for a TD. Any fake punts or kicks or any broken plays that result in TD's for the kicking team will be credited to the individual players that were involved in them, but NOT the kicker or the kicking special team.
D/ST SHUTOUT
*A D/ST shutout is broken by ANY scoring against a team's defense or ANY scoring against their special teams, including any extra points, field goals, or TD's.
SCORING MISTAKES
*Any scoring mistakes made by the commisioner must be reported back to the commisioner by the following week's transactions deadline (the night before the first game is played that week), or they will not be considered for change. No changes in scoring will be made after this weekly deadline.
*No PFFFL scoring changes will be made as a result of NFL scoring changes that take place occasionally in the week following NFL games. Changes in PFFFL scoring will only be made as a result of my mistake, not the NFL's mistake.
FREE AGENTS
*A GM can sign only two (2) free agents per week. This number may not be carried over to future weeks if not used in any given week. All claims of free agents can be made by phone, in writing, or by email. All moves are free. Free agent requests must be received by 6pm the day before the first game of that week. (As with starting lineups and transactions mentioned in "ROSTERS" section above, when using email, the commissioner is not responsible for any emails that arrive after the weekly deadline, no matter when they were sent by the GM. Whenever possible, GM's that use email for starting lineups and transactions should try to do so as early as possible to make sure their moves get included for that weekend's games.)
*Free agents claimed by more than one GM will be awarded to the GM whose team has the worse regular season won-loss record at the time of the request. If two or more teams have the same won-loss record, the second tiebreaker for claiming free agents is draft position, with the team that picked lower getting free agent preference. Any free agents requested before the regular season begins will be awarded to the GM who had the lower draft position.
*Players "cut" (placed on waivers) by one GM, are not eligible to be picked up by other GM's until the following week, when the updated rosters are available.
*If a GM requests a free agent that is already on another team's roster at the time of the request, that GM will forfeit ALL free agent requests for that week AND will not be permitted to sign any free agents the following week.
*As mentioned in STARTING LINEUPS section above, *If a GM names a requested free agent in their starting lineup that they end up not successfully signing, that starting spot will be empty if an alternate lineup had not been given.
*No free agent pickups are permitted for any reason after week 13.
TRADES
*GM's may trade one or more players or D/ST's for one or more players or D/ST's with other GM's at any time during the active trade period. The active trade period is from draft day to the trade deadline, Saturday, October 25th, no later than 6pm.
*Trades must be reported to the commissioner by ALL GM's involved in the trade no later than 6pm the night before the first game of that week (weekly deadline) for the trade to take affect for that weekend's games. If all GM's involved do not report the trade by the weekly deadline, the trade is NOT valid for that week.
*It is the responsibility of all GM's involved in a trade to insure that players have spots on their roster after the trades are completed. Any rosters with too many players after a trade will void the trade for ALL teams involved, with any traded players staying with their original teams.
*Players may ONLY be traded for other players. No other compensation is to be exchanged from GM's for players. (draft picks for the current season may be used in trades on draft day only)
*As mentioned in STARTING LINEUPS and FREE AGENTS sections above, if a GM names a player that they plan on obtaining through a proposed trade in their starting lineup and the trade does not go through for any reason, that starting spot will be empty if an alternate lineup had not been given.
*All trades are subject to approval by the commissioner of the PFFFL.
LEAGUE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
*League information, including current team rosters, weekly transactions, results, and standings will be available online each week at
PLAYOFFS
*After 13 weeks of the regular season, the three division winners and three wild card teams (the second place team in each division) will advance to the PFFFL Playoffs. Division winners will be seeded one through three based on won-loss records, then wildcard teams will be seeded four through six, also based on won-loss records. (Seeding will always be separate between divisional winners and wildcard teams) In the event of a tie between two or more teams to determine playoff seeding, see "TO BREAK A TIE TO DETERMINE PLAYOFF SEEDING" section below.
*Division winners 1 and 2 will have a bye in the first round, also known as the wildcard playoff round (Week 14). Division winner 3 will host wildcard team 3, and wildcard team 1 will host wildcard team 2.
*The two winners from the wildcard playoff round will advance to the divisional playoffs (Week 15). Division winner 1 will host the lowest seeded team that won in Week 14. Division winner 2 will host the highest seeded team that won in Week 14.
*The two winners from the divisional playoffs will advance to the "Fantasy Bowl" (Week 16) to determine the PFFFL Champion. The higher seeded team that won in Week 15 will represent the home team.
TIEBREAKERS
In the event of a tie between two teams in a game in any given week during the regular season, playoffs, or Fantasy Bowl, home field advantage will be the only tiebreaker used. (The home team will win any ties in any given week)
TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION
If, at the end of the regular season (after week 13), two or more teams in the same division finish with identical won-loss records, the following steps will be taken to break any ties within that division.
PLEASE NOTE: WHEN THREE OR MORE TEAMS ARE INVOLVED IN A TIEBREAKER...At any step of the tiebreaker, if a higher seeded team is determined or any team is eliminated, any remaining tied teams will always revert back to step one.
1. Head-to-head (best won-loss record in games between tied teams).
2. Point differential in head-to-head games (total fantasy points scored vs total fantasy points against in games between tied teams)
3. Best won-loss record in games played within the division by tied teams.
4. Total fantasy points in all games during the entire regular season by each tied team.
5. Point differential in all games during the entire regular season (total fantasy points scored vs total fantasy points against by each tied team)
TO BREAK A TIE TO DETERMINE PLAYOFF SEEDING
If, at the end of the regular season (after week 13), two or more teams finish with identical won-loss records, the following steps will be taken to break any ties to determine seeding for division champions or wildcard teams.
IMPORTANT: Always break any ties within each division before attempting to break any ties for seeding.
PLEASE NOTE: WHEN THREE TEAMS ARE INVOLVED IN A SEEDING TIEBREAKER...At any step of the tiebreaker, if a higher seeded team is determined or any team is eliminated, any remaining tied teams will always revert back to step one.
1. Head-to-head (best won-loss record in games between tied teams). This tiebreaker will only be used if all tied teams played each other during regular season. If not, go to step three.
2. Point differential in head-to-head games (total fantasy points scored vs total fantasy points against between tied teams). This tiebreaker will only be used if all tied teams played each other during regular season. If not, go to step three.
3. Total fantasy points in all games during the entire regular season by each tied team.
4. Point differential in all games during the entire regular season (total fantasy points scored vs total fantasy points against for entire regular season between tied teams)
*All rules are subject to the interpretation of the commissioner of the PFFFL. If a discrepancy arises, the commissioner may, but not necessarily, call for a league vote by the GM's, with all votes and decisions being final. The results of these decisions would take effect from the week in question through the end of the season. It would not effect any prior scoring.
