John Wickleff Hackett 1869 ~ 1948

My great grandfather was known as Papa to his daughters. He was born in Buckingham County, Virginia. About 1905 he took his family to Albemarle County where they lived at Mirador while he worked for the Langhorne family. They later removed to Leesburg in Loudoun County and then to Highfield, Maryland where he and Sallie Bett passed their final days. On the back of this photo is written Johnny Hackett

of Highfield, Maryland. I believe this snapshot was made in 1942
at the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
