In this, our third, issue, Mr. Jefferson's Challenge begins to take on the characteristics we envisioned: a political dialog for the American People, created by the American People. The primary article is written by Paul Baldwin, U.S. Citizen and Mr. Jefferson's Challenge subscriber. The section for public questions and comments, "The American Citizenry Speaks!," is expanding to reflect broader public interest. We believe our role at Mr. Jefferson's Challenge is to facilitate this public dialog, not to drive the dialog.
We again encourage you to contribute to these discussions, either within the Mr. Jefferson's Challenge project or elsewhere. The public articles and comments submitted to Mr. Jefferson's Challenge reflect a thinking, active American Citizenry. Many are frustrated, but we see no evidence of an apathetic or ill-informed Electorate. This common myth is designed to justify the political and social status quo, while hindering constructive exploration and change by the People. We must challenge this myth with responsible Citizen debate and action...and we must stop repeating it to our children!
We thank you for your encouragement and involvement in Mr. Jefferson's Challenge.
