(from former Czechoslovakia)
An American, British and Russian (could easily be substituted with a Czech/Slovak) meet to tell each other the happiest moments of their lives.
The American says: --I was sleeping in my beach house when somebody gently knocked on my door. I opened it and there she was. Marylin Monroe asking me, if I was presently occupied ...I will remember that night forever.
The British says: --I also was sleeping when somebody knocked urgently on my door. It was my butler telling me that I won 100,000 pounds in horse races. I'll remember that night forever.
The Russian says: --I also was sleeping when around 3 a.m. I heard pounding on my door. I opened and saw two somber looking guys, in long leather jackets and hats standing there. One of them asked me: Are you Ivan Ivanovic Ivanov?
--I answered with great relief: NO, NO, HE LIVES IN THE APARTMENT ABOVE ME!!!
Tell me what
you read and I will tell you, who did you steal the book from.
If you want
to read the Textbook
of the Czechoslovak Secret Police click here. Now it reads like a joke
but a decade ago it was no fun... (A link to the site of the Czech
Necenzurovane Noviny-it's about 165K text file-in Czech language).
