A drop of water is seen,
as it appears under a microscope.
It is full of tree branches.
This portrays the origin of the world.
Clouds fill the thousand mountains.
Sterility and petrification:
A loud noise.
The bath becomes a desert.
Long wandering
to a garden with stone statues and a parrot.
The first man created the bath to hide a diamond.
A snakelike monster with many horns
kills and devours all other animals.
But God comes from the four corners
and gives rebirth to all the dead animals.
A small mouse is penetrated by
worms, snakes, fishes and human beings.
Thus the mouse becomes human.
This portrays the four stages of the origin of mankind.
A drunken woman falls into the water
and comes out renewed and sober.
Initiation:
A barber with a mirror leads the prince into a bath
in the castle of non-existence.
A loud noise, darkness, the water rises.
All is lost.
An ascent into heaven,
where pagan dances are being celebrated.
A descent into hell,
where angels are doing good deeds.
Swarms of gnats obscure the sun, the moon, and all the stars,
except one.
That one star falls upon the dreamer.
Regeneration through submission:
The prince must shoot the parrot
with the golden bow and arrow.
Twice he misses and petrifies up to his chest.
Then he closes his eyes, shouts "God is Great," shoots blindly.
The parrot disappears,
The diamond is revealed,
the statues come to life.
The Light is the meaning of the Shadow,
As the challenge calls forth the response.
Life may be known
but not measured.
Everyone shines equally for the Audience of One.
The spark of Life is struck stone against steel.
You are what you've done,
And will be what you do.
A path is not a place.
Coincidence!
The mark of the deep.
Religion is a Place,
But the Way goes on forever.
An idolator accosted me in the park,
A mind-mugger seeking company for the asylum.
He threatened me with eternal death,
shaking his god in my face.
I offered him eternal Life,
for death is only a fiction invented by the church.
He opened the pages of his black-bound idol,
and said we were all sinners.
I offered him a match to liberate him from his sin.
There is no sin other than error,
and no religion higher than truth.
The first act of the Sun
is self-creation.
In the garden,
seeds of destiny,
roots of ancient time.
Under the camouflage,
A cosmic stranger.
Genuine is crude,
falsity is slick.
Shadows lengthen;
spires fade from view.
Overhead the hawk of night,
among whirling sparks and wind-carried ashes.
Under the silent stars
a night must fall
that a new day may break.
Downhill is always an easier path.
Do you look for the Deliverer?
Then look in the mirror.
Morality is germ-prevention;
Justice is germ-removal.
War and politics:
seafoam on the shores of time.
What religion do I follow?
The way is nameless.
Everything comes from the light,
becomes a tool,
then a rule,
then a lesson and a challenge,
finally deadwood for the fire.
There are no lines drawn on the Sun,
and no paths laid out in the Royal Maze.
Why do you wish to know your past lives
when you do not understand your present?
Words blow the dust;
Acts turn the soil.
A follower also holds the leash.
If the pieces of a puzzle were alike,
they would not fit together.
In chance meetings
we find the One,
in meaning where none should be.
There are no shortcuts on the high road of life.
Victories are lost,
possessions crumble,
Self remains.
The world is a symbol.
Reality is an assumption.
The price of eternal life is periodic death.
Bones for future dogs.
Scholarship-sewage!
Suck it in and
Spew it out,
Pile it up and
Spread it about.
Second-hand seeing
and third-hand heart.
Scholarship-sewage!
We possess things and things possess us.
In order to be, it is insufficient to sit.
There are no safe half-truths.
I am the willow,
the fading light of day,
the night barking of dogs.
Love is completion.
Pure light needs no covering.
