The 12th Annual Emerald City Open Footbag Tournament, presented by Sound Footwork Footbag Club, will be held the weekend of June 3rd and 4th at Lid Park on Mercer Island (East of Seattle). This event is one of the longest running Footbag events in the world, and is open to entrants from all around the world.

Footbag is a competitive sport, similar to a popular game played with the Hacky Sack. At this tournament, players will compete in one or more of the following popular Footbag games: Footbag Net, a singles or doubles court game, like tennis or volleyball, where players use only their feet to kick the Footbag over a 5 foot high net; Timed Footbag Consecutives, a singles competition, where players try to kick a Footbag with as many alternating kicks as they can within 5 minutes; and Footbag Golf, similar in concept to regular golf or disc golf, where the players complete a course by kicking the Footbag into "holes" which are cones placed around the course.

Spectators and competitors of all abilities are welcome. This event offers competition for novice, advanced, and open level players. There will also be free events for first time competitors with prizes donated by sponsors. Top players from around the world will be competing in the Footbag Net final rounds that begin at around 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 4. There is no admission charge for spectators.

The Emerald City Open is sponsored by:
Aqua Sack, Bag Magnet, Cole's Footbags, Duel Inc., Feathered Friends Sporting Goods, Flying Clipper Footbags, I Dig Footbags, Kick in the Grass Footbags, Kinesys Pharmaceuticals Inc., Mambosok, Matel Sports, Mi Pueblo Mexican Grill, Minuteman Press Southcenter, Misty City Software, Multipure, Odwalla, Power Bar, Print Masters, Rainbow Groceries, Sipa Sipa, and others!

The event is sanctioned by the International Footbag Advisory Board and the World Footbag Association.
