Kevin Spacey's Stage Credits:

Thanks to The Grammercy Pictures page for The Usual Suspects...

A seasoned and acclaimed stage performer, Mr. Spacey made his New York debut as a messenger in Joseph Papp's 1981 production of Henry IV, Part I and a year later made his Broadway debut as Oswald opposite Liv Ullmann in Ibsen's Ghosts.

He has appeared in numerous regional and repertory productions in Los Angeles, New York, New Haven, and Seattle, and smaller productions including The Robbers, Barbarians, As It Is In Heaven, Life and Limb, Uncle Vanya, The Mousetrap, and Right Behind the Flag. He also appeared in Mike Nichols' production of Hurlyburly, in The Seagull with Colleen Dewhurst at the Kennedy Center, and Jonathan Miller's 1986 Broadway and London production of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night with Jack Lemmon and Peter Gallagher (available on videotape as an American Playhouse Production - see the film credits page). He also starred with Liam Neeson in the excellent 1991 production Darrow, about Clarence Darrow's involvment with the labor movement, particularly the Pennsylvania coal strikes of the mid-teens. This has been shown on PBS, but at present this little-seen gem is packed away, as nobody seems to have any broadcast rights to the production.

In 1991 he won a Tony Award for his performance as Uncle Louie in Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers (so then they turn around and give the film role to Richard Dreyfuss???). He appeared on stage in the New York premiere of Athol Fugard's Playland, directed by the author.

In February through May of 1998, Kevin starred in a London production of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh, which garnered very positive reviews.

Mr. Spacey has planned to return to the New York stage to reprise his late friend Dennis McIntyre's National Anthems. He will produce and act, Arvin Brown will direct. No further details on the production are forthcoming at this time.
