Robin Cousins' Choreography and Music for Himself
Robin Cousins began choreographing shortly after he first learned to skate, and throughout his career he has created an enormous number of programs for himself and for other skaters, including two complete shows with his own Electric Ice Company of skaters. He does all of his own music editing, and enjoys finding a wide variety of unusual music for the routines. Sadly, many of his best numbers have never been televised, and some of his most interesting creations have not even been professionally videotaped. The following is only a partial list of Robin's choreography and music selections. Additions and corrections to the list are welcome. Please e-mail LoisY@AOL.com.
Amateur competitive programs are dated by the year of the World Championships in which they were skated, and would have debuted the previous autumn.
Abbreviations: SP=Short Program; LP=Long Program; TP=Technical Program; AP=Artistic Program; CP= Competitive Program (for one-routine pro competitions); World Pros or Landover=World Professional Championships in Landover, Maryland in December; Star Spangled Ice=annual July benefit show in Blue Jay, California started by Robin in 1987; BBC=British TV; CBC and CTV=Canadian TV; NHK=Japanese TV; NBC, CBS, ABC, HBO, TBS, and ESPN=US TV
