Welcome to Hick's Home Netscape Blue Ribbon Campaign

If you have someone with a dream, if you have a motivated person with a goal and a vision, if you have someone who never gives up, who has great hope, anything can happen. - Jim 'Jimmy V' Valvano

There are few things in life that I am passionate about. The V Foundation and what it stands for is at the top of the list. Growing up, 'V' was a role-model and a true inspiration to me and the day he died was truly one of the saddest days I've yet encountered. The V Foundation carries on V's name and empowers others with his winning spirit, carrying on the creed he lived by.

Welcome to my little corner on the web! I'm not going to spill my life's story, (hey, I plan to sell it someday ;D), but I do hope to show you some great places on web (well, IMHO ) and show em to ya in an appealing manner. Note that this page is HTML 2.0+ enhanced. It should load properly on Netscape 2.0+, IE 3.0+ and AOL 3.0+. If things don't look right, drop me a line and I'll look into it.

Note: This page is not under construction! I think that's become such a cliche. Of course a page is under construction if it changes! What you see here is what you get. Of course some of it will change from time to time, but overall things will stay the same. Recently I won a contest AOL was sponsoring amongst its remote volunteers.. If you'd like to see the old page, (the one that was entered into the contest), click here.

What you'll find here are links to some of the sites on the web I find exceptional in nature, great in content and full of surprises. What you won't find here are porn links, adult links, etc. So browse around, check out the tons of things the web has to offer... Just be sure to turn the light off when you leave!

About Me

There's not really much to say. My name is Sean Stallings and I'm a student / programmer / Windows & Telecommunications Consultant. I'm a student of Western Kentucky University, with a dual major in Econ and Accounting, and enjoy NCAA Basketball.

I enjoy classic rock, but like a few (very few) songs from the 80's, and even fewer from the 90's (like almost none dude!). I hate country, but do like George Strait, old Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson and of course Reba! I enjoy college basketball (love it actually!), pro baseball (more specifically the DODGERS!), and playing (but not watching) golf. I'm a die hard conservative, and am very involved in local and national politics.

I also write add ons for the staff and users of America Online and am editor of GrittyNews, the premier AOL newsletter. I've been on AOL now for about 6 years, and have spent the last 3 years or so as a guide online. Of all the online services I've tried (and I've tried them all), AOL is definitely tops!

Welp, that's about it for now. For those of you that have asked for a picture, there's one coming.. some day :D I've got a crummy grey scale one, but I'd rather have a color one to put up here.

Other Kentucky Links

If you live in Kentucky, then I think you'll find my Kentucky links page a winner. It's got lots of links to some really great sites around the state, and I even through in a few tourism type links. If you know of or manage a great Kentucky site, feel free to ship it off to me. I'd love to expand my selection!

Friends' Pages

Over the years I've made a lot of friends here in Cyberspace. Friends from not only here in the states, but around the world. Writing software for the global market has brought me in touch with some of the coolest people on the planet. Check out some of their pages here.

News on the Web

Hick likes news. Whether it's political in nature, the latest sports scores, the local weather, National & World news or news concerning the Internet, I like being informed. See my News Links and catch up on everything you've been missing! You'll be amazed!

Educational Links

Of course, you can't just go around having fun all the time. You have to learn something once in a while. Lucky for us, that was one of the original purposes of the Internet. Learn more about your favorite colleges, check out your old High School's newsletter, get some algebra help or see just what the kids nowadays are up to! There's a lot of educational stuff out there, and my Educational Links will point you in the right direction to quite a bit of it!

Web Help Links

While we're on the subject of learning, let's take some time to learn more about the Internet, how it works and I even threw in some web authoring help pages for those of you just venturing onto the web. All that and more in my Web Help section!

Web Search

By now you've been around the web a few times I'm sure. It's a large mass of information and finding what you're after can be a task in and of itself. Never fear! I've compiled what I consider to be the best Web Search engines around. Whether you're looking for local weather, a site dealing with Pink Floyd or recent headlines from The Washington Post, you'll be able to search for them in my all in one search page! I've seen other all in one search pages and while good, are either too big and bulky or hard to understand (which is what I thought they were supposed to prevent?)

Favorite Links

"Always save the best for last" my mother used to tell me. And here we have it. A collection of my Favorite Links on the web! You'll see some of what I consider to be the cream of the crop, the top tomato, the best of the best (and no cliche's! ;)
