for the Army's only combined active/reserve logistics support command. Deputy Director of a joint public relations,
information management and marketing group in Central America (Operation New Horizons) communicating the stories of more than
20,000 American military personnel being deployed in five nations within a seven-month period of time. Executive Officer of
a public relations, information technology and marketing group at the Pentagon coordinating the tenth anniversary of the Army
Reserve's involvement during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Currently assigned as Commander/CEO of a regional strategic and operational public affairs organization, managing over 100 Army Reserve Soliders in 4 states, with a budget of $1.8M and equipment valued at $2.6M. Will leave command in mid-summer, 2004 after successfully recalling and deploying the organization to Kuwait and as the first public affairs organiztion in the former Presidential Palace in Baghdad, Iraq with no loss of life or significant equipment losses. Organization was largely responsible for embedding and forward onward movement of some 2700 international journalists, editors, broadcasters and news anchors into the Southwestern Asian theater during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Sales & Marketing in outdoor (Riddle-Rogers, Inc., Augusta, Georgia) and indoor (J.C. Penney's, Augusta Mall, Augusta, Georgia; Sears, Roebuck and Company, Greenwood Mall, Bowling Green, Kentucky; Lowe's Home Center of Bowling Green, Kentucky) environments. At all, sold electronic typewriters, word processors & associated furnishings; at Penney's and Sears, sold computer -related merchandise and many other kinds of home entertainment & electronic items as well as selling of other items through catalog referrals. At Penney's, led sales team of four for 7 months, during which section was recognized & I was personally recognized for quality customer service & for sales achievement; at Sears and later at Lowe's, was personally responsible & was recognized for excellent customer sales & service in computer hardware and software & sold 90 percent of all computers and related materials with less than 7 percent return/exchange rate. Known as the "Home/Office Man" by customers at Lowe's, my Lowe's store was one of three stores successfully experimenting with the sales and support of home computers and hard/software accessories. Designed and modified existing "home/office" planagrams and directed computer sales and service. Was part of team recognized as the best sales team in the Region for two successive quarters and I was honored by the corporate offices for my personal efforts in customer satisfaction and computer sales assistance (4/87 to 6/88; 6/94 to 10/95).
Computer Literacy Help Desk/Instruction (Blackeagle Services of Kentucky, Henderson, Kentucky), providing clients with basic instruction and assistance in how to purchase, setup, use, and modify their personal computer items; offering in-home coaching on computer software usage as well as getting to and finding their way around the Internet; expanded shortly before leaving for latest Army mission to Balkans and Germany to include basic and some intermediate-level Webpage creation/design (fulltime 10/95- 9/98; parttime 3/92-10/95). Also worked with a startup firm that attempted to enter the helpdesk market (CLR Technologies, Evansville, Indiana), as I organized and engineered their helpdesk services, coached other helpdesk support representatives found and evaluated help desk software, and responded to calls from individuals using one of two local internet service providers (9/95-11/95) and as temporary help to a local insurance firm composing new versions of existing forms using Pagemaker and Microsoft Word (Northfield Insurance, St. Paul, Minnesota) and with designing new forms upon request from underwriters and other divisions (10/98 - 03/99).
Developmental Disability Provider (RiverValley Behavior Health, Henderson, Kentucky), providing living and personal care modeling and services to 14 clients with various degrees of developmental disabilities (5/96- 6/97 and from 5/97-9/97).

Authored a user guide as well as 47 DEC VAX computer programs that were used as parts of an integrated computer menu/applications program for students at Eastern Kentucky University over a two year period. Have created and placed more than 500 web pages onto the World Wide Web, mostly dealing with Scouting and youth program issues as well as creation of pages for various Scouting organizations and units throughout the state. Contribute to and provide daily content for the U.S. Scouting Service Project (USSSP)'s website in several areas related to organization, extension, uniforming and programming.
