Natural Remedies for Turning a Breech Baby
As always, be sure to check with your midwife or doctor. Babies most always turn by the 37th week--if not, you may want to try one of these remedies before having your healthcare provider attempt a manual version.
- Pulsatilla: Take 12X potency tablets under the tongue, one per day for up to two weeks. Don't attempt to make a tea with pulsatilla--it is a homeopathic remedy that must be taken according to homepathic principles.
- Tilt Posture: Place two or three pillows on the floor and sit on them. Lie with your head on the floor with your pelvis raised nine to twelve inches above the level of your head. Do twice a day on an empty stomach for ten minutes. This may be begun during the 30th week of pregnancy and continued for 4-6 weeks, or until the baby turns. Do not continue once the baby is head down, or it may turn back.
- Do a headstand totally immersed in water. The earlier and more often this is done, the more chance of success.
- Visualization: Visualize the baby lying head down in your uterus for 5 minutes, twice a day. Don't try to visualize the baby changing; try to picture the baby already in the head down position.
- Moxa on Bladder 67 (see an accupuncturist) on the outside of the little toe next to the nail on both feet. Finger pressure can be used if accupuncture is not available. Try to find someone experienced with this technique.
