I started this page in 1995 and now it's 1996 and it's been a while since I've updated it. So I guess it's about time, eh? The time that I didn't spend here, I spent on the web pages you'll see if you click on the Alternative button above.
Earlier this year (1996) I did some web pages for display at the web site of my good buddy Gerhard Fuchs in Austria. He had a lot of interesting "doors" to look into there and was hosting 3 levels of my web page work behind one of them. However, Gerhard is moving on to other things and is planning on shutting his web site down, so the above link may not work after awhile.
So, I've moved my contribution to Gerhard's Doors to a place where you can still view it. It's just fun stuff which includes more of my original art work and writings. Check it out!
I'm currently unemployed and could really use some gainful employment right about now. If you like my web pages and want me to do some for you, or need a customer service oriented LAN Administrator/Computer Support type person, or need someone who can provide instruction, research, or consultation in personal computers and networks, then e-mail me!
I should be able to remember the password for it if anybody ever uses it to send me anything. So far, it's been my experience that the whole process is so involved that most folks don't want to bother messing with it. Perhaps now that the U.S. Congress has passed an unwise (my opinion) attempt to regulate content on the Internet, more will be inspired to use it for better privacy. If you'd like to correspond with me under the personal privacy that PGP encryption affords, drop me an encrypted line or two so we can keep in practice.
Neverwinter Nights is the AD&D (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons) game on America Online (Keyword: AD&D). I had lots of fun with it in 1994, before I moved on to other interests in 1995. I bet some budding anthropology student could get a paper out of this thing. It's a culture unto itself. Click here and I'll share some of my experiences there with you. Then get an AOL membership, if you can and have the desire, to check it out for yourself. The Keyword in AOL's domain is AD&D.
This page is heavy with graphics and hardly any text, but it's all 16 color and should come out ok even with a plain-jane VGA monitor like I used to have before I upgraded to Super VGA. I did it all in Windows Paintbrush. Yeah, I know. Primitive. It does say something about me, though. Click here to check it out. Maybe you'll find it has it's own certain charm.
Last and probably least is my first-effort WWW page done with AOL's Personal Publisher. The Personal Publisher automatically plugs in an AOL member's Profile data, so you can learn some more of the personal details about me there. Every member has complete control over what data gets stored in the Profile; that's not involuntary. The page arrangement is pretty much fixed though. One item on each line and it's all left-aligned.
AOL's Personal Publisher area (Keyword: HTML) got me started easily; I'll say that. And the resources to be found there by members is more than enough to give one plenty of ideas for creatively exploding into the rest of the 2 megabytes of WWW & FTP storage space which AOL is giving each of it's members control of at no extra charge. Actually, if you don't go multi-media and stick to just graphics and text, you can get a lot of content into just 2 megs of space. The limitations are just enough to make one get out of the restrictions by learning how to build web pages independantly off-line. However, AOL's Personal Publisher area is a good place to start in getting the hang of things.
I should point out here that AOL provides up to a total of 10 megs of personal space free to its members. That's a maximum of 2 megs of space per screen name (non-dynamically allocated) and you can have up to five different screen names on one membership at no extra charge.
You can check out what other AOL members have done with their home pages and 2 megs of space per screen name, too. Click here to go to AOL's Member WWW Home Pages Search engine and try a couple of searches by subject, or name, or whatever.
