The Suprema, Slavelord of Mandalore appeared in just one story, but it is a notable one. He was the featured villain of the Expanded Universe's first trip to the planet Mandalore, ancestral home of Boba Fett and the Mandalorian Protectors. In the wake of the events of The Empire Strikes Back Princess Leia and C-3P0 traveled to the Mandalore system in search of the Carbonite-frozen Han Solo. There the heroes encountered the Suprema, a strange alien who commanded the Imperial slaving operations on the planet. Aided by Mandalorian Protectors Fenn Shysa and Tobbi Dala, Leia and Threepio smashed the Suprema's operations and destroyed his sanctuary, a massive installation constructed in and among the petrified skeleton of a gargantuan alien creature.

The Suprema's one and only appearance was in issue 69, "Death in the City of Bone!" which was reprinted in "Fool's Bounty", the fifth volume of Star Wars: A Long Time Ago..., Dark Horse Comics' trade paperback series reprinting the entire Marvel run.

According to writer Jo Duffy, had the Marvel series survived past issue 107, the Suprema may have returned to challenge the Star Warriors again, so he may yet survive!

The Suprema - Slavelord of Mandalore

Two Imperial Stormtroopers dragged a beaten and bloody human into the control center of the massive city of bone, headquarters of the Empire's slaving operations on the planet Mandalore. A third trooper followed with a container holding the captive's equipment.

"Here is the prisoner we captured near the outskirts of Kedalbe, sir," the lead Stormtrooper reported. "He was wearing this armor." He held up the distinctive and colorful helmet of a Mandalorian Protector.

"Leggo of me, ya bloody slimetrooper!" Tobbi Dala swore as he tried to break free of the troopers' grasp.

In the shadows, the chieftain of the Mandalorian slave colony turned. "Now, now, my friend. What poor manners! From what I understand, the blood of your kinsman ran in the veins of the first of these troopers."

Dala spat in disgust. "No Mandalorian would be party to slavery!"

The tall, reptilian figure emerged from the shadows. His laugh was a cruel hiss. "You'd be surprised how many Mandalorians, both willing and otherwise, are party to slavery. I am the Suprema. And I am your master."

Dala drew back from the approach of the Suprema. "Oh, laddie, you definitely made the jump to ugly-space."

"Your charming wit will not save you now," the Suprema snarled. "I'm sure you'd find the smooth-skinned race with which my people share our homeworld more pleasant company. But, sadly for you, they are cowards and introverts who lack my ambition and vision."

"Ambition? 'Tis the vision of a madman who'd enslave a helpless people!"

The Suprema ignored Dala and gazed out through a window carved from a spinal bone of the long-dead, gargantuan alien creature whose skeleton provided the supports and foundation of the slavers' headquarters. "Tell me, human, how do you like my city? Did you know that instead of building this grand sanctuary the local governor wanted merely to deposit yet another of the Empire's prefabricated installations? The fool! I appealed to your Emperor and he agreed. The bones of this colossus are perfect for our cause. This place is a symbol of fear. And you are right to be fearful. Before I'm through, I will impose my will upon this world or I will make a desert of it."

"M'boy, before I'm through, I'm gonna bring this who blasted place right down on top of your bloody head."

"We shall see," the Suprema scoffed. "Guards! Take him away. It's a shame I can't kill you just yet, Mandalorian, but your armor shall make a fine trophy for this hall."

Description: The Suprema is a tall, purple and blue scaled reptilian creature with an 
elongated skull, jagged teeth, and three bony digits on each hand. He favors a green cape 
over purple robes and a cruel glint in his eyes.
A Quote: "I am far from your average lackey. I am the Suprema, chieftain of the entire 
Mandalorian slave colony, but you, fair princess may call me master!"
