LINDSAY, OKLAHOMA

At the end of a long trek across this branch line one would arrive in Lindsay. As mentioned earlier the Santa Fe portion of this line ended in Lindsay and the Rock Island line picked up to Chickasha. The depot in Lindsay was used by both the Rock Island and the Santa Fe. It is however a Santa Fe standard depot. One is left to wonder if the Rock Island had their name on one side of the depot while it was still operating into Lindsay.

The City of Lindsay chose to repaint its depot in the 1930 to 1950 yellow with green trim paint standard. The depot has been lovingly restored. Unfortunately a boxcar obscures the view of the depot from what was trackside. This building serves today as a chamber of commerce.
