Dougherty, Oklahoma is a rual community in the Arbuckle mountians. It is a poor community. This area of Oklahoma is known as Little Dixie and the catfish skulls which rest on many fence posts are an example of the contrast which exists between the G.C.&S.F. and the A.T.&S.F. towns.
