Davis, Oklahoma signals the gateway to the short Arbuckle mountain range which is said to be older than the Appilacian mountains. Strangely the mountain range runs east-west and at some points it appears that the rocks which form the mountains were dumped on their side. It makes for some interesting rock formations. Turner Falls is a location near here where one can cool his heels under a tall waterfall which is "maintained" by the city of Davis. When in the area take U.S. 77 through the tall hills. It is worth the detour especially in the fall and the spring.

The depots in this area all seem to be of a large size for some reason. Davis is no exception. Today it serves as a museum and is tastefully painted in standard historical colors. Other photos of this depot can be found in: Trains Magazine 1997 Super Bowl Special SFMO depot magazine.
