The Gulf Colorado and Santa Fe (G.C.&S.F.) corporate limits extended to Purcell where the Atchinson Topeka and Santa Fe terminated. This line hosted several passenger trains. The Texas Express, The Ranger, and The Antelope, and the Chicago Express were well know passenger trains on this route through the years. However, The Texas Chief was the premier train on this route. In 1979 Amtrak's Lone Star made its final run and Oklahoma has not seen passenger service since save for a few excursions.
