1:20pm No. 68 Eastbound ex-Sunday Mixed from Leavenworth to Wilder

By design this depot would appear to have been built by another railroad. It is actually similar to a Frisco design. The closest depot that I have seen on the Santa Fe to this design is in Ellinwood, Kansas. It hard to believe that this was a Santa Fe depot. I had a conversation with an officer at this location and I originally felt that he was missinformed. It is odd because there is a large hill just past this depot. The depot actually seems to be inside the Leavenworth city limits which would seem to suggest that this has never been a railroad structure. The officer informed me that a viaduct had been filled in years ago that the train used to cross under. Today it is a gaurd station.
