EASTERN DIVISION-ALMA DISTRICT

This line at one time extended all the way to Manhattan, KS. It was cut back to Alma in 1898. The remainder of the line was abandoned on February 13, 1973. The Alma depot still stands in disrepair on its original site but I don't have a photo. Alma, Eskridge and Harveyville were built to the same plan which included a strange small bay window that did not even extend to the eave of the depot. The plans were probably Manhattan, Alma, and Burlingame standards but strangely had Santa Fe standard eave brackets. Other depots on this line were no doubt built to this same standard.
