Joan's contributed to some more complilation albums:
She has a song on the new Lilith Fair compilation CD. The song is a cover of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You."
She's also contributed "Ladder" to the Live X III: R.A.I.N.N. Songs CD, put out by WNNX in Atlanta, released July 22. All proceeds will go to help support RAINN, the rape abuse and incest national network co-founded by Tori Amos (thanx to rusty for info)
Joan also continues to work on her new studio album for her label Blue Gorilla, and is in the recording process; she is co-producing it.
The album is reportedly due out by Spring 1998, with touring to follow.
Rumor has it she has guest appearances on some other albums; details forthcoming.
Meantime, Joan's new CD called Early Recordings, consisting of previous recordings from Soul Show and Blue Million Miles, was released November 4, 1996.
Her first radio single & second official single is the haunting Grammy-nominated "St Teresa"
The first official single was the 3-time Grammy-nominated smash TOP 5 hit "One Of Us", written by Eric Bazilian (of the Hooters)- an amazing, upbeat & wryly childlike song that asks, "What if God was one of us?" & reflects the age old desire to behold the Divine.
It is also featured on the 1996 Grammy Nominees CD put out by Sony Music.
The third radio release was the Captain Beefheart inspired bluesy raunch-rocker "Right Hand Man". Watch for the video on MTV/VH-1 (a partial description is in the ETW article- Read it here and also clips are available at RockWeb, see above).
In USA relish was released in March 95 & "One of Us" was released in August 95. OOU peaked at Number 4 & spent 8 wks in Billboard's Top 10. relish spent 2 wks in Top 10. "One of Us" was released in the UK on 22 January 96 and entered the UK Charts at #5. relish was officially released in Europe February 19 and entered UK chart also at #5.
