Axis Powers: Allies of the Luftwaffe Aircraft Markings

During the war various eastern european nations allied themselves with Germany and flew in combat missions for and with Luftwaffe units stationed on the eastern front. Many of these countries flew aircraft of their own design and manufacture. However, many of these countries obtained a small supply of German aircraft such as the Messerschmitt Bf109. Generally the markings of these aircraft are seldom shown. The following list shows a sampling of German-made Messerschmitts in the colors of their adoptive countries.
