SATANTA, KANSAS

Passenger Train Schedule November 29, 1942

If there could be an important point on the Cimarron Valley and Manter Districts Satanta would be it. Satanta was the junction point for the two districts. The Cimarron Valley railroad also sees the importance of this junction. Satanta was probably a good example of a busy branch line junction.

Unfortunately this depot is gone. It burned in 1997. When this photo was taken the Cimarron Valley railroad was about a month old. They had already painted out the Satanta Santa Fe sign and had painted a Geep in the deep blue and white Cimarron Valley paint scheme. This was the only depot left online at the time of the sale. The depot itself was a 1910 standard. However in later years a generous helping of immitation siding was added.
