There were no regular stops in Alden; only flag stops. Alden is one of those small farming communities lost among the fields of wheat. Other photos of this depot can be found in H. Roger Grant's Kansas Depots on page 36.

This depot appears at first glance to be of standard Santa Fe frame construction. However, the bay window is squared off on this side and there is actually another on the other side. Just below the apex of the gable roof there are very ornate decorations. The eave supports are more decorative than the usual Santa Fe standard. Today this is an attractive little museum still containing period railroad furniture and railroad artifacts.
