This is looking north. The Keddie yard is off to the right, through a tunnel, and the Keddie wye is behind and to the left.

This is the southbound that we heard on the scanner, come to take us home.  It is led by three mighty engines, red, green and blue. The crew was plenty friendly, and told us that they were indeed headed back to Stockton.  They were being switched out with another crew that was being bused in, so we had about an hour to walk the train and pick our favorite car (a grainer).

Then it was a daylong ride back through the canyon, back through Sacramento, back to Stockton.  You can just look at the other pictures in reverse order, if you want, because by that time I was out of film.
