Chambers Floyd County, Georgia
James Polk Chambers was my great grand father.
Born 1838 in Floyd County Georgia he owned a grist mill and was a miller
all his life. Had several childern Rad, Homer, Earny, Anna, Sim and Aubry.
All the folks around Silver Creek, GA refered to him as Polk Chambers.
He was a charter member of a Premitive Baptist Church near a community
called Wax. He also was political minded, he orginized a Poll to vote at
in the south end of the county so folks would not have to go to Rome and
vote. Polk was buried in the church yard at Wax in a famly plot. My infant
sister was also buried there. Polk died after 1900 but I dont recall when.
My father was Aubry's oldest son, his name was Elbert. Aubry had two orther
sons, Tugs and Aubry Jr. also Aubry had a daughter named Margret. Out of
those Tugs and Aubry Jr are still alive. None know who James Polk's father
was. Can you help us. Both Aubry Jr and Tugs (Elmer is his real name) have
grand sons named Chambers. Contact: Elbert

-- New Jersey -- Mass. -- RI
I am looking for information on my gt. gt. grandfather.
In 1881 he lived in Dorchester New Brunswick and was listed on that year's
census as age 51. He was a shipbuilder. Census says he was from Nova Scotia.
He moved to NB c. 1855. His wife was Sarah, last name unknown. It is believed
his father's name was Alexander. His first born was also Alexander, my
gt. grandfather. This Alexander married Rebecca Cole in Dorchester NB,
which is where my grandmother Alvina May Chambers was born. When ship building
industry began to decline, James and family moved to Bath, ME. By 1900
he was listed in the Jersey City NJ census. His other children were Emma,
Lavinia, William, George, and Ella May. William lived in Winthrop MA sometime
around WW I. We think this family came from RI to Nova Scotia in the 1760's
when King George was giving away land. Any information on this James would
be appreciated. I would especially like to know where he was born and who
Sarah was. It would be great to know if he died in NJ and where he is buried.

When we first got the information from you, some
time back, we wondered about the fact that Roland & Phoebe [Chambers]
didn't get married until ca. 1768 & that "our" Robert was born in 1763.
Do you think that it is a possibility that "our" Robert Chambers 11/21/1763

County, VA (WV) -- Greenup County, KY
I am trying to tie my family together. A will
for Rebecca Chambers b abt 1785 PA who married Henry Dusenberry b abt 1795
PA. Henry died abt 1852 in Monongalia County, VA (WV). Shortly after Henry
expired his daughter Hester Ann b 1818 VA married Ambrose M Clarke and
they relocated to Greenup County, KY. I have no marriage documentation
for Hester and Ambrose, but do have deeds and a birth record for their
son. Hester was named in her fathers will, but unfortunately, with her
maiden name as she had not yet married. Rebecca's will would be just the
ticket to verify my research up to this time. Children of Rebecca and Henry
were: Hester A, Henry, George and Lewis. The census shows them all of have
been born in VA. Contact: Melissa Hesselbach,
