In conclusion there were three churches before the death of Augustine:  St. Martin, St. Pancras and the Holy Saviour.


St. Pancras (Pancratius), martyr (304)  during Diocletian persecution - This boy Martyr was dear to Pope Gregory (one of his sermon was on St. Pancras day).  It was said that the family of St.Pancras had owned the part of the Caelian Hill  where the Monastery of St. Andrew . The cult of St. Pancras was common among the English
