Buckley's wood lift strut
Clyde Buckley (2503 Philo Ave., Muskegon MI 49441) has built a couple of Ford-powered Air Campers. One of his creations is "Old Pete" (N3513), owned and flown by Allan J. Wise (2517 Caribbean Court, Orlando FL 32805)
When Kyle R. Bradford (2565 Gale Road, Route #1, Eaton Rapids MI 48827) was building his award-winning Ford-powered Air Camper, he asked Clyde how he had made his wood lift struts. Clyde answered with a note and a xerox copy of a section of the strut. Clyde sent us Kyle's response and we've put part of it here for all to see. (We'll publish the strut fittings in BPAN after we get some missing dimensions.)
The strut section measures apx. one inch by three and one-half inches.
