Grant, The first flight of our Piet was last night.
Got cold, had to land to put more clothes on. No trim problems at all. It seems to get off on about 200 feet. Best climb must be about 50 mph. 1800RPM = about 70mph. Slowed to 30 mph indicated to get a stall indication and chickened out.
The control forces are much lighter than I am used to with our Cardinal, but no problem. A larger windshield might be a good idea to suggest to other builders. I used drawings from Don Pietenpol. Just increasing his basic design might be a good idea for those in cooler areas.
