Hello Grant

Just a note and a picture to let you know that my Piet has made it's first flight and now has 22+ hours of the most fun flying I have ever had. Other than a broken tail wheel spring, which was used, I have no problems from the first flight.

My Piet (N38B) is Corvair powered, standard fuselage. I am using a Warp-Drive prop which is giving excellent performance. Empty weight came out to 625 lbs.

Enclosed is a picture of my other Corvair powered aircraft (N93B). It is a Davis DA-2A. It is using a basic Piet conversion on the Corvair conversion which gives it a relationship to the Piet. This plane has been flying since 1987 and has 400+ hours on it.

This makes the fourth Piet on the airport, Sandridge Airpark-OK94, to fly and two more are being built. Another Piet at a field about four miles away was completed and flown this summer. I would like to thank everyone who helped in the completion of this project, especially Earl Klebs who allowed me to invade his heated work shops last winter. Without this I would still be trying to finish. Also, the brave souls who made the first two test flights, THANK YOU.

This turned out longer than I planned so I will quit. If I can help anyone else please contact me.

Sincerely,

Jim Ballew
