"This Night" - Current Info About the Scrapbook Volume 4

Welcome to yet another "issue" of This Night - Current Information About The Scrapbook. In this issue, I have several interesting things to explain and discuss. Please feel free to share your thoughts, feelings, opinions, and suggestions about this in the message folder for "And So it Goes" It can be found by going keyword: scrapbook Clicking on the icon for message folder and then clicking on the one for "And So it Goes" Please share your thoughts there. First of all, you may have noticed that not much has changed about the scrapbook recently, and for that I apologize. I have recently started school and have been very busy. However, now I want to get back in the swing of things. When I had originally envisioned this idea for the scrapbook, I had ideas of something being constantly changing, being updated often, and being very interactive with the users. Well, I must say although I'm very proud of this scrapbook, I don't feel that all of my expectations have been met. Most of it is my fault. I have not updated this often enough, but I will. You're all my witnesses, this scrapbook WILL become better! I'll make sure that it will! But I need some of your help too... I have several times asked users to contribute but they have shown a general lack of interest. However, many people have volunteered to help me in many ways which I am greatly appreciative of. If anyone would like to help in anyway, such as authoring a contest, being in charge of gathering information, or anything PLEASE contact me. This is not to pass off the work to you, but rather if I have people helping I'll be able to add in even more great stuff. However, I'm also referring to user contributions. Put away your wallet, not *that* kind of contributions. I mean like stuff to add to the scrapbook. Such as? Such as photos of the great one, photos of yourself, ticket stubs, photos of your Billy Joel collections, writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc....), reviews, information, thought, opinions, whatever.... Like I said, the purpose of this scrapbook is to be a forum for Billy Joel fans to express how they feel. Listen, this is a great opportunity for you, and I'm wondering why most of you aren't taking advantage of it? Don't take this the wrong way... I'm not trying to blame anyone for anything or accuse anyone of anything, I'm just simply trying to find out what I'm doing wrong. Please let me know why people seem to be reluctant to contribute stuff. I just want to know, are you all too busy? do you not care? do I not explain things well enough? do you not trust me? do you just not have anything to send? would you rather just see other people's stuff? am I too overbearing or eager or annoying? did you just not get around to it? or what? All of these things are acceptable excuses, because they all sound like things that I would say. Again, I'm just curious. I'm not saying anything mean, don't take it the wrong way. After all, you don't see very many stories by me, or pictures of my collection, or my ticket stubs, do you? So who am I to pass judgment on anyone else? Lets make a deal, I'll work harder and make the scrapbook better, if you help a little? Sound good? Any takers? Onto more important things. I'm starting a slight reformation of the scrapbook and I'd like to make you aware of the new changes to be taking place.

1) I have received several items in the mail from scrapbook members and I will be adding them shortly.

2) I will be creating a folder for scrapbook information. In this folder, it will contain every issue of "This Night" as well as important updates and information. I will post information about scrapbook events such as the scrapbook chat which I promise will eventually occur. Probably within the next month or so.

3) I will be creating a Billy Joel Information folder. This will contain the FAQ file, as well as a copy for you to download and read at your leisure. It will also contain any other information type stuff about Billy Joel. Contributions are welcome in this area!

4) The table of contents will get updated.

5) Polls and Contents. They WILL get updated. I know the same ones have been in there for several weeks now, but from now on they will be updated. However, I think the contests will be monthly to give more time for people to play and for me to work on them. I'd like volunteers to help with it though. If someone would like to be responsible for a trivia contest or a lyric trivia contest PLEASE write to me. All you'd have to do is think up questions and write them down. And you can work on the tallying of winners and stuff like that. We can discuss it. Write me if interested. If anyone wants to author a poll write me also. I can't do anymore polls by myself besides the ongoing one, because the tallying drives me crazy, but if anyone would be interested let me know. Also, Name that Tune really IS coming...

6) Here is the wacky and crazy idea for this issue. You know, the one that probably will never happened and is of me sounding totally stupid and being a little too crazy. If you think this is crazy, just laugh and move on... if not, write to me or leave a message saying what you think... An Executive Board of Directors. Don't laugh *yet*. Seriously, we could meet every few weeks in a chat room and discuss things about the scrapbook and decide what to do. We can have a President (me), VP, Secretary (to take minutes which will be added to the scrapbook for all to view), and a Treasurer (well, OK, I guess not a Treasurer). We could have closed meetings of just us, or opened meetings for everyone. That way we can decide what to do and you can advise me... If I have atleast 2 people interested we could have elections. Come on its fun :-) Otherwise, I'll just have to do nominations :-) And I have a few in mind... you know who you are...

7) Souvenirs. The section of the scrapbook where ticket subs, pictures of people's Billy Joel collections and such can be posted....

8) Have any ideas? Post them in the message folder...
