"This Night" - Current Info About the Scrapbook Volume 2

    Hello! Welcome to the second edition of "This Night" Now the scrapbook

is up and running so I can give you some more insight about what is there and

what I invision for the future. Well, you can browse around and see what

here, but I will quickly highlight some of the cool things in here. WELCOME

TO THE SHOW is introductory info about the scrapbook with an awesome graphic

from CAD MOUSE. THIS NIGHT is updated periodcaly and is current info about

the scrapbook and future plans. BILLY JOEL FAQ is the ultimate list of BJ

information and compiled by Mike Steele who did an awesome job. I will try to

post the updated list as often as it is updated (bi-weekly). There is also

POLLS AND CONTESTS. In here there is an ONGOING POLL which I encourgae

everyone to fill out. There are also results of various polls in this area.

As for Contests, there are currently 2 of them. TRIVIA is a question that is

updated biweekly. Its challenging so think hard! "If I Only Had The Wods" -

Lyric Trivia is a challenging puzzle made by myself and Kaptnjak23 and is a

combination of different lyrics into a paragraph and you need to figure out

where each phrase came from. In A ROOM OF OUR OWN, the artistic impression

of Billy's music are expressed. There is a CONCERTS area where pictures taken

by fans at concerts are displayed. There is also an area called

MUSIC-INSPIRED PICTURES by ASH of FX Men in Jupiter. He expressed his

feelings of some Billy songs in beautiful scenic pictures. everyone check

them out, because they are truly beautiful.

     So what? you may be saying. Thats not THAT much. And you're right, it

really isn't. But that is the great part of the scrapbook. It will be

updated very frequently. But I can't do it all myself. I need help from you

guys! Yes YOU! I want things like concert reviews, album reviews, photos,

stories, experiences, etc. or anything like that you would like to

contribute. As longas it doesn't infringe on anyone's copyright it is

perfectly fine. Anyone who wants a "section" in the scrapbook can have one.

If you want to display Billy Joel- related artwork, have your own trivia

contest, or whatver, just write to me and we can discuss it. I know I've

said this so many times before, but I can't stress it enough.

*NEW- Now "And So it Goes" has its own message board! Please discuss

whatever you want about the scrapbook. You won't get flamed for posting a

general Billy Joel question or comment, but they are more appropriate for the

Billy Joel message board in the Music Message Center. Keyword: MMC, or the

USENET newsgroup, alt.music.billy-joel. Feel free to comment, ask a

question, give a suggestion, or just have a general discussion about the

scrapbok. It is in the scrapbook message center in the main scrapbook area.

FUTURE plans. Well, I have several ideas in the works, but before I

actually get far into them, I need your opinions, thoughts, suggestions, and

help.

- Collector's Corner. I have mentioned this before. In here, users can place

FREE classified ads about BILLY JOEL. If you want to meet pen pals like you,

trade rare items, advertise an event (such as a Billy Joel chat), or anything

relating to Billy Joel, it could be done here. Ads can be e-mailed to be and

I'll "ad" them to the scrapbook.

- Name That Tune. Due to copyright problems I can't simply record Billy's

music and post a short sample. BUT, if someone can play a few notes on the

piano and e-mail me a computer sound file of it, this contest can become a

reality. Or if you have a good voice, you can sing a few notes or something.

If anyone has any ideas how we could do this, let me know.

- A Scheduled Conference. In the scrapbook area, an option is to have a

conference. It is in an official conference room and would be pretty cool. I

see no problem with maybe discussing the scrapbook for a few minutes and then

just talk about Billy. Problem being that I don't want to cause a problem

with the regular Thursday night Billy Joel chat. We could do it on a

different night, or on the same night as that, but only once a month. If

there is interest we could do something like that. maybe something like the

first Thrusday of the month could be a conference....? Or it could be a one

time event. or never if no one would be interested.... Just let me know your

thoughts.

- Biweekly poll. I had orignally mentioned this at the begining of the

scrapbook, but am not sure if we should do this. We could have a different

question every two weekly for people to vote on. But if only a few people

participate, it wont be any fun! And we would run out of questions quickly.

Polls are fun, but maybe not so often. Perhaps the ONGOING POLL is enough?

- Having "Members" We could have a way of e-mailing me and becoming an

"official member" of the scrapbook. That way we could get a good idea of who

are the "regulars" I could e-mail these people when major changes take place

in the scrapbook and send them "THIS NIGHT" whenever it gets updated. Just so

they could keep on top of whats going on. Also, if you want we could have

some type of group of advisors to me. If people want to play more of a role

in the scrapbook, we could choose a group of people who will help me make the

important decisions. I will still be the coordinator and there can only be

one of those based on how the scrapbook system works, but people can still

help plan and design things.

- Anything else? I can't stress enough how much your opinions mean to me.

Please let me know of any ideas you may have no matter how crazy they may
