"This is The Time" - Current Scrapbook Information

Volume 1

"and so it went..." That's how I can sumarize the status of the AOL scrapbook. Perhaps the end of that scrapbook, and the start of this web page is a sign of better things to come. I sure hope so.

By now I'm sure you're aware that the AOL scrapbook is gone, and is being replaced by this, the "and so it goes" - scrapbook web page. To those loyal AOL fans of "and so it goes" -- brace yourself. This scrapbook is going to make the AOL thing look like a joke. To the new Internet members, who are new to this scrapbook stuff -- brace yourself. You've probably never seen anything like this before, and I sure hope that you'll enjoy it.

I'd like to remind the old fans that many of the same policies will still be in place. For you, and for the new people, I'd like to re-establish some of the policies of the scrapbook.

Although I'm in charge of the scrapbook and I do most of the work, I'd like to let you know that this is "our" scrapbook. Every single one of you is part of this scrapbook. No matter how much work I put in, if you guys aren't active, the scrapbook will not be a success. It's up to you! What this means is that you guys can contribute, and should contribute. Have you written a story about Billy Joel but never had a place to share it? Have you taken some great pictures of him but never had a place to display them? Do you have a question that you want to poll fans, but never had a place to conduct it? Well, you do now! The scrapbook is YOUR place to share Billy Joel-related things that you've done. If you want to have a section of it to display stuff you've done, please feel free to! There is only a certain amount that I can do. But, if you'd like to help do stuff (run a contest, tally a poll, create an area, etc.) I'd appreciate it a lot! I found that the AOL people have been very helpful. The point is, the more people help, the more we can have in the scrapbook. Please e-mail me and tell me that you want to help.

Please note that I am extremely easy to deal with. If you ever have any questions, comments, ideas, suggestions, or anything, please e-mail me. I love hearing from people. Even if you think it's silly, write anyway, chances are that it's not. Even if it is, then so what?

Remember, if you wish to hear updates about the scrapbook, please sign up to be on my e-mailing list. I write to the people whenever changes are to be made. It's your best way of keeping up-to-date.

Furthermore, I'd like to tell you about the Billy Joel Information Center. I envision it to be an area wih current information about Billy Joel. This includes little articles that are in the newspaper, etc. So, whenever you hear something about Billy Joel (if it's a rumor or not) PLEASE e-mail me so I can add it to this area. I have no real "connections". Therefore, the only way that I can find out information is from you guys. That way we can all share what we know. So keep an eye out (because I know you are anyway) for news regarding Billy. When you hear something (anything) e-mail me a short summary so I can add it. If everyone participates, we should be able to have a great news area. But it requires the participate of everyone. This includes all information things from concert schedules, to album release dates, to personal issues (how he's doing, gossip-type stuff), guest apperances, interviews, TV appearances, magazine articles, etc. Anything works. Even if there's rumors circulating on the newsgroup and mailing lsit, that stuff is good too.

Again, the scrapbook's success it dependent on you! So, please help make it great! Not only for my sake, but for that of all the other Bily Joel fans out there. If you are interested in knowing a little bit more about the scrapbook, I urge you to read past issues of "This Night" the information newsletter of the old scrapbook. Thanks a lot! I hope to hear from all of you. Enjoy! Keep The Faith!

and so it goes...
