WE LOVE CHOCOLATE!

"Kayo" came to live with us when he was 9 weeks old. I have the world's worst sweet tooth so it was only fitting that our first Labrador be a chocolate. It was not intended that he be shown when we purchased him. He was a result of much research due to the horrible experience with our first Lab we had gotten at the local pet store 2 years earlier. I had been traveling to the shows for quite some time with friends that showed Great Danes. They finally talked me into entering him in a show. When he took BOB from the classes for a 4 point major, I was hooked! Over the years we have bred and acquired more blacks than chocolates (some say we have just come to our senses!).

There have been so many wonderful dogs
we have known throughout the years. Some have been very successful
in the show ring as well as made a great impact on our breeding
program. Others have simply been good friends and all have their
own special place in our hearts. The following are some of our
favorites.
Quailwood Lady Hamilton
"Emma" shared our couch
and bedside, went for many rides to pick up the pizza, and was
always with Carl where ever he could take her. She was definitely
his dog. She let me share his company occasionally, resigning
herself to the stack of dog beds in front of the fireplace. Always
"on guard" in the spring when the butterflies were out,
determined that this year she would catch one.
CH. Donally's Chance Reception (CH. Receiver Of Cranspire x Donally's Tannenbaum)
"Chancie", now 12 yrs old,
was my first yellow. She did well in the conformation ring, loves
the water and retrieving. Excelled in the whelping box, I swear
she counted her pups every time she left and came back. From her
I have a daughter and a granddaughter. Both have her good looks,
sweet disposition, & the ability to "know" what
we are thinking most of the time.
Bannerbee's Fancy that (CH. Wingmasters Chisim Trail CD WC x Apollo's Destiny)
"Fancy", now 11 yrs. old
has been my best producing chocolate. Bred to CH. Marshland Blitz
we got an outstanding litter of 5 black girls and 4 black boys.
Of those 9 puppies we kept two, a third came back to us at 15
months old.
