Note: Supplies are Limited!
Bill Hemsing has been an artist for 35 years, creating both paintings and sculptures as a hobby. Since October 1995, he has been challenged by ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. In four months the disease destroyed the motor neurons that control his muscles, leaving him unable to walk and without use of his hands. But the disease did not destroy Bill's artistic eye. He continued to create through use of his voice-activated (and then eye-activated) computer program.Bill has created a collection of artwork that can be purchased as greeting cards, blank note cards or prints. Please feel free to browse the Artist Within Collection and help support the fight for a cure for ALS.
The Artist Within is grateful to all the wonderful supporters, volunteers and sponsors who have made it possible to contribute in such a large way to terminating this disease.
The ultimate goal of the Artist Within is to be out of business!
For the past three years, Bill Hemsing could barely move, yet he was one of the area's most mobile men. On April 21, 1999, Hemsing died, but his artistic legacy lives on.
