December 1996 Highlight

Johnno's is a beach bar located on Sandy Ground. There, you will find a taste of true Anguilla nightlife. A few nights a week, Johnno's features a steel drum band with plenty of dancing. The sounds of the music can be heard across Sandy Ground. It is a must stop, if nothing else, just to hear some good, local music.

Johnno's, like the Barrel Stay, is the only a short walk down the beach from the Pelicans Villa.

October 1996 Highlight

Located on Sandy Ground, is a wonderful little restaurant called the Barrel Stay. The Barrel Stay was recently mentioned in one of Bob Green's Anguilla News updates. Not only is this restaurant located right on the beach, but it serves the best fish soup offered anywhere in the world. If you don't try anything else, you must try the Barrel Stay's fish soup. For those of you interested in the Villas advertised at this site, the Barrel Stay is located only a short walk down the beach from Pelicans. The Barrel Stay serves as a great lunch spot when you need that short break from all that sunbathing and swimming on the white sand beaches of Sandy Ground.

September 1996 Highlight

One of my favorite places to eat on the island of Anguilla is the small chicken stand just outside Blowing Point (the ferry port between Anguilla and St. Martin). Many locals can be found congregating around the small stand while the aroma of delicious barbecued chicken fills the air. The only thing better than the aroma is the taste.

It's just one of the many great places on Anguilla that you can get a quick, inexpensive, delicious meal.
