It seems to me that the meaning of art should be for the most part self-evident, and that if there is hidden meaning it should be up to the viewer to discover.
If I have any "artistic philosophy", it is only that all creative acts are the same, that there is really no difference between composing a symphony, baking a cake, writing a story or painting a picture. Some media may offer greater opportunities for expression while others may offer more room for experimentation. But at the heart of whatever we do is that same mystical process of creation.
All of the works you will see on these pages (and the design of the pages themselves) are my own. Some are just for show, some are for sale, some are outright commercial ventures.
All comments are welcome.
I would like to dedicate these pages to my Grandmothers, Ada Robinson and Vera Carlsen.
For Ada who was an accomplished watercolorist who taught me an appreciation of the fine arts and to love the smell of turpentine. And Vera, who taught me how to crochet and weave and that the simplest things we do can still be fine art.
