Across the street from the UNIS Towers is the Caffe Slastarnica (on the ground floor), a pizzeria that continued to open throughout the war, serving whoever had the Deutschmarks. In order to enter the pizzeria, you had to dodge sniper fire in the exposed intersection outside.
One Christmas during the siege, the pizzeria's owner decided to hold a fashion show, a stunt which involved nothing more than some local women wearing their nicest clothes. The would-be fashion models had to dash in and out of the pizzeria in order to avoid being shot.
