The headquarters of Sarajevo's daily newspaper, the Oslobodenja, sits on the western road into Sarajevo, Bulevar Mese Selimovica, infamously known as Sniper Alley. In summer of 1992, the publishing company came under heavy shelling, completely gutting the building's tower. However, the rest of the building and the basement printing presses survived and continue to be in use today. Despite the horrid conditions, the Oslobodenja managed to continue printing a daily newspaper (albeit smaller) throughout the siege.
